There is absolutely no doubt that people in general tend to fall head over heels in love with pug puppies. This is because when you look at them, you will understand why they are considered to be so different from the other dog breeds.

From their small shape to their flat nose, they have also been found to be extremely good and obedient pets.

So, if you are thinking of purchasing a pug puppy for you and your family, it would be good to know that there are tons of pug color types from which you will be able to choose from. In other words, you would be spoiled for choice.

From the middle of the nineteenth century, there were mainly two main types of pugs which were found to be dominating the history of pugs as well as their breeding lines. As a result, they have also been named after two competing sides – the Morrison and the Willoughby.

When discussing the pug color types for the Morrison pugs, you will be able to see that their color was golden fawn. In addition to that, they had a black mask on the muzzle which was very well-defined along with a trace which extends all the way to their back. As for the Willoughby pugs, you would be able to see that the black mask was not limited to the muzzle only.

In fact, you would be able to see it extending right over to the head along with the edges as well. In addition, the trace was also found to be less discernible in the Willoughby pugs than what could be found in the Morrison ones.
There was another distinction which could be found between these two lines. This is that in the Willoughby pugs, the fawn-colored hairs were sometimes tipped in black. This could not be found in the case of Morrison pugs as their fawn was completely pure. However, over the years, these two lines engaged in interbreeding for which the distinction became blurred right up till the present times.
